History of Arkansas Aviation

Learn about the inspiration for the Wright Brothers’ airplane, Charles Lindbergh's connection with Arkansas, the founding of the Little Rock Air Force Base, and more!

Keith Carlson will teach us all about the history of aviation in Arkansas, including many early innovations in air travel, World War I and World War II aviators in Arkansas, and the founding of FedEx.

Keith Carlson is currently the Executive Vice President for Guaranteed Rate, Inc mortgage company. He has always had a passion for aviation, receiving his Pilot Certificate in May of 2022.  He and his wife Devon purchased their first plane in March of 2022 and enjoy exploring the many small airports across Arkansas and beyond. He is currently working on his Instrument and Commercial pilot ratings and has a goal of becoming a Certified Flight Instructor later this year.

For anyone of all ages who is interested in the topic of aviation. No registration required. Contact Megan at Laman Library for more information.
