Are you a budding songwriter with piles of unfinished songs? Are you a creative individual looking to dabble in a new form of self-expression? Join Song Garden to meet other songwriters, encourage one another in your pursuits, and gain fresh perspective on this deeply personal, poetic and musical practice from a local musician. Jake Davis of local band band Housetreehouse will share some of his favorite pieces of songwriting, explain his process, answer questions, and give participants the time to create and share verses of their own based on a prompt. Bringing a personal notebook and writing utensil is encouraged, but not required. All levels of experience are welcome! This is a three-session series. We will gather in the Exhibit Hall on the 2nd floor of Laman Library.
