During this Real Talk we'll learn how the Black Panther Party took care of their community and fought against racial oppression.
Real Talk - a monthly meetup to discuss difficult, contemporary, and complex issues.
Teens are invited to the Loft each month to enjoy some light snacks and a quick talk on the month's topic, before the floor opens for questions and discussion.
We want to be vulnerable, well researched, and real with you about what's going on in your world. We also want you to feel at ease to ask difficult questions, without fear of censorship. To maintain the safety and assurance required for this kind of discussion, we have a few ground rules for the group which will be reviewed at the top of every meeting and which boil down to two points: let your words be kind, and let your information be founded in well researched fact.
Ages 13-18. No registration required. Email Jenna at jjones@nlrlibrary.org for more information.
