In honor of Aldo Leopold, one of the founders of the environmental movement, and as part of a statewide week of community readings across Arkansas, we invite our community to gather for a shared reading of excerpts from A Sand County Almanac and other environmental writings. First published in 1949, Leopold’s work remains a cornerstone of environmental thought, calling for an ethical and deeply rooted relationship with the natural world.
Community readings offer a powerful way to slow down, listen, and connect.
Paper Hearts Bookstore will join us in this communal experience, helping connect us to one another, to the power of literacy, and to the magic of land.
Resident artist Jennie Promack will also lead a hands-on DIY nature journaling activity, inviting participants to take the magic into their own hands!
Registration is optional but recommended.
